ITINERARY

Day1. Chinggis Khaan Statue Complex and Kazak Nomadic Family

Ulaanbaatar –via Chinggis Khaan Statue Complex-Kazak family 110km

• This iconic landmark known as the Zaisan Memorial was built by the Russians to honor unknown soviet soldiers killed in World War II. At the top of a long stretch of 300 stairs
• Visitors can hike on forested mountain slopes and explore the ruins of an ancient Manzushir Monastery, which had 20 temples and over 300 monks when it was fully functioning prior to 1937 destruction.
• On the way, We’ll have a picnic lunch.
• Visit to The Chinggis Khaan Statue is 40m tall and located near the river Tuul where according to the legend, he found a golden whip. Statue symbolically points east towards his birthplace.
• Visit to Nomadic Kazak family. We'll have dinner with the family.
• Stay overnight: Nomadic family’s ger or tourist camp.

Day2. Terelj national park and Back to Ulaanbaatar

Nomadic Kazak family – via Terelj National Park-Ulaanbaatar 120km

• Those who wish can leave for a horse trek along the Tuul River and valley. Riding our horses, we'll discover a contrasting landscape made of rivers, steppes and forests.
• Journey to Gorkhi-Terelj National Park, a real gorgeous green setting at the gates of the capital rocky formations sculpted by erosion, mountains tree-filled with pines, plains scattered with wild flowers and edelweiss, rivers and lakes.
• We’ll have lunch in the nomadic family
• Stop at turtle rock, from where we walk until Ariyaval Monastery. Hike
Back to UlaanBaatar. Arrival in town and settling in at your accommodation, where you can rest a few moments.


Note: Stay with breeders who settled on the banks of the Tuul River. You'll discover wonderful landscapes and share the daily activities of the host family. You will be proposed many activities, such as milking the animals or making traditional dairy products. You will also attend the preparation of a Mongolian meals __ that you'll enjoy with your hosts.

Since the trip will be in the mountainous, a high altitude region of Mongolia, and the weather can be very unpredictable and you might even experience snow, we suggest you bring the following:

• Warm coat
• Gloves
• Scarf
• Woolen hat
• Long underwear / long johns
• Woolen jumper
• Woolen socks
• Sleeping bag (for -10 to -15C)
